  • The New Year's Eve ball for 500 physicists organized in the Warsaw University of Technology. Activities planned for the World Year of Physics 2005 in Poland will be carried on along three directions, according to who will be the receiver and what will be the form of action: A. To form an opinion of intellectuals, non-physics scientists, journalists, people of culture and media, business people - on the significance of physics B. To popularize physics among the general public, especially among young people C. To present physics to physicists, scientists, teachers, technicians, and technologists. A. Activities forming an opinion of intellectuals on the significance of physics Interdisciplinary conferences, workshops and discussions on relations between physics and mathematics, biology, economy, ... B. Activities popularizing physics among the general public, especially among young people

  • "National experiment" carried on in towns and villages - "Measurement of air pollution in Poland"; transmitted on national TV, publication of maps with the results

  • Competition on the construction of large devices for presentation of physics effects in macroscale

  • Presentation of the physics effects for the general public in the town squares with the use of the winning devices.

  • Competition to take the best photograph illustrating the topic "Where is physics?"

  • Competition to prepare the best multimedia presentation describing physics effects

  • Competition to prepare the Web side on "How does it work?"

  • Physics show in supermarkets: presentations and quizes
