The planification is in progress. The Society is going to support the elaboration of a book about the "History of Physics" in Venezuela. At the end of this year, two events will take place and it is planned to use them for launching the activities related with WYP2005. These events are: -5th Iberoamerican Meeting om Optics and 8th Latin American Meeting on Optics Lasers and Their Applications (october 3-8, 2004, in Porlamar, Isla de Margarita) http://www.ivic.ve/Fisica/cuantica/riao -LIV Convention of ASOVAC (Society for the advance of science) (november 14-21, 2004, in Valencia). Next Year there will be a big event:-V Congress of the Venezuelan Physical Society (in November 2005, in Punto Fijo) and -LV Convention ASOVAC (Society for the advance of science) (November 2005). The proposition is that this Convention will be held in Caracas. ASOVAC has declared the year 2005 Year of Physics and the Venezuelan Physical Society has asked for a space in their weekly radio program for promoting the Internartional Year of Physics during all the 2005.
